Keith Tyo Chosen Rotarian of the Year
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The Rotary Club of Plattsburgh has named Keith Tyo Rotarian of the year for 2007-08. Tyo, executive assistant to the president at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh, was presented with the award during the Club’s July 30th meeting. Anthony Searing, immediate past president of the club, said Tyo was chosen for his assistance during the past year on various club initiatives and for promotion of the club. Tyo said he did not expect to receive the award. “I enjoy working with the other Rotarians on various projects that benefit other local organizations that service the community. I didn’t expect this since I believe there are truly many other Rotarians who deserve it more than me.” Tyo joined the Rotary Club of Plattsburgh in August 2005 at the urging of Rotarian Nicholas Troisi. He served as chair of the Club’s Public Relations Committee for two years, including promotion of events such as the annual Rotary Fishing Classic and the Roducky Derby. A member of the club’s Board of Directors, Tyo is currently developing a new website for the club with the help of Media Central.
