Five people were named Paul Harris Fellows in May 2009 for their service to the Rotary Club and/or community. They included (l-r): Barbara Straw, Eleanor Berger and Keith Tyo, members of the Rotary Club of Plattsburgh (Noon Club), Alice Sample, a local community service volunteer, and Gail Recore, of the Plattsburgh Sunrise Rotary Club.
The Rotary Club of Plattsburgh is seeking nominations for the Paul Harris Award.
The Paul Harris Fellow Award is the highest honor a club can bestow on a person, either a Rotarian or a community member.
The award acknowledges "service above self", which an individual has offered to their community, their nation or indeed to the world. Paul Harris was the founder of Rotary, and this award program was created to fund many Rotary Foundation programs.
Nominations are being accepted through Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010.
