So You Want to Become a Member
of the Plattsburgh Rotary Club

Many people join Rotary as a means of "paying back" for the professional success they have achieved. They are looking for ways to help others. When you join Rotary, you play a role in helping the club achieve its community and worldwide goals. This is done both through involvement in community projects and financial support.

Rotary Basics

Read Rotary Basics, the annual guide to all things Rotary. In addition to providing a crash course in Rotary history and demys--tifying RI terms, Rotary Basics is a thorough introduction to RI and Rotary Foundation programs and member-ship benefits and responsibilities. Released each August to coincide with Membership and Extension Month, Rotary Basics helps clubs educate new and longtime Rotarians alike. It’s also an excellent recruiting tool.

Rotary Club membership is a great way to mix with community leaders from all walks of life and to hear outstanding speakers each week. Our club meets at 12:15 p.m. Wednesdays for lunch at the Elk’s Club, 56 Cumberland Avenue, in Plattsburgh. Each week we plan future programs and projects and listen to a speaker discuss some interesting Please come and join us to experience what Rotary is really all about.

The Rotary Club of Plattsburgh sponsors several major events each year to raise funds to support community agencies, projects and international efforts to improve health in Nicaragua. Major events include the Annual Rotary Fishing Classic (last weekend of May), Rotary Radio Day (with the support of WIRY Hometown Radio), and the Roducky Derby (during the Battle of Plattsburgh festivities.)
