DID YOU KNOW?

Annually, Rotary recognizes six of its members and program participants age 30 and under as Rotary People of Action: ‘Champions of Tomorrow’ for their leadership in advancing impactful, youth‑centered initiatives that are helping to create the foundations for brighter futures, today. As a global membership organization that unites people across cultures and continents in humanitarian service, Rotary empowers its members to create lasting solutions alongside the communities they serve. Next week, we will meet two of the six Champions of Tomorrow.
 

Committee Meetings

Please check with the Committee Chairs for any specific meeting details.
 
Rotary Board Meeting - The Rotary Board meeting is regularly scheduled for the 3rd Monday of the month at MHAB.  The next meeting is April 20, at noon at MHABReminder - new members are required to attend a board meeting as part of their red to blue badge
 
Environmental Committee - This committee meets regularly on the 1st Thursday of each month at noon. The next rescheduled meeting is April 9 at 12:30pm.  If you do not have the Zoom link, contact Amanda Prescott.
 
Membership Committee - This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 11:10 am.  The next meeting will be on Wednesday, April 8.
 
Fishing Classic Committee - The next meeting is April 28 at 4pm. If you do not have the Zoom link, contact Robert Swem or Amanda Prescott.
 
Program Committee - This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 1st Monday of the month.  The next meeting is on April 6 at noon at MHAB.  
 
Service Committee - The Service Committee will be meeting bi-monthly going forward. It will be the first Wednesday at 11 am at MHAB. The next Service Committee meeting is May 6.  Save the date for Rotary's Big Day of Service on May 16.
 
Youth Service Committee - This Committee is gearing back up.  Join in the action on Tuesday, April 14 at 2pm. Watch for a Zoom link.
 
Public Relations Committee - The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 27 after the regular weekly meeting.

Events & Announcements 

New Member Orientation

The next orientation for all new members is April 24, 8am at 53 Court Street. This is a requirement for new members to earn their blue badge.

Green Up Day 

Earth Day is upon us, and we're participating in the Plattsburgh Clean-Up on April 18.  Rotarians will meet at Trinity Park (1 Trinity Pl) ***at 9AM*** to get our bags etc.  Contact Amanda Prescott with questions.   

 

Highway Clean Up

Our Club has a tradition of Highway clean up.  Be part of the crew and see what mysterious items you can find along the highway.  Join fellow Rotarians on May 16 at 11am.  We'll meet in the parking lot outside of Hobby Lobby and carpool to the stretch of I-87 we are assigned to. Contact Amanda Prescott with questions.

Alissa VanNortwick was inducted into the Rotary Club of Plattsburgh at the April 1 meeting. Alissa is the office manager at CB Electric and looks forward to participating in the club’s community service activities. Her sponsor is Cliff Berg. Alissa and Cliff are enrolled under the CB Electric corporate membership.
